Morristown Harvest of Talents

We are excited that so many people from the Morristown community are stepping up and taking leadership of different areas for Harvest of Talents. We are able to start collecting donations now through Sept. 30th. The items can be food, service vouchers, jewelry, art work, furniture, or any items that you might want to submit. If you are interested in submitting an item please fill out the attached form and email it to us. Contribution Form

We are also still looking for people to teach mini lessons. Please let us know if you are interested in doing a demonstration.

Harvest of Talents Summary of Events & Needs

For all of you looking to get involved with Harvest of Talents, here is a summary of what we hope October 6 looks like, and all of the volunteers we are going to need to make it happen! :)

SALE
Sale (9am-2pm): Located in the Worship Center, the Sale will be the bulk of the Harvest Day. The Sale will consist of all donated art/talent items: paintings, photographs, sewn & knitted items, furniture, baked goods, jewelry, etc.
Volunteers Needed
Greeters & Monitors
These volunteers will be responsible for greeting guests, getting them registered, and monitoring the floor during the day. You will be available to answer questions & help where needed.
3-4 people

Donations
We need EVERYBODY to be thinking about his or her talents and contributions for Harvest of Talents!

Cashiers
Collect & count money coming in. [This job is recommended for someone wanting to participate, but unable to be up & mobile all day.]

Silent Auction
Silent Auction (9am-1pm): In the worship center, there will be an area designated for a silent auction. The items will be chosen by the HOT team and represent a variety of talents and monetary value. Auction winners will be announced at approximately 1pm. Definite itinerary TBD.
Volunteers
Coordinator
This person should be familiar with computers & live auctions. You will be responsible for creating tags & auction logs for the day of. A template will be provided. You will also be responsible for logging items as they are purchased during the auction. You will also create bidder number registration materials. Guidelines & templates will be provided.
1 person
Runners
These people will be responsible for making sure winning bidders receive their items as they win them.
2-3 people
Live Auction
Live Auction (2pm): An auctioneer will host a live auction to sell a variety of items. This event will take place in the worship center. Items will be on display the entire day. Items will be chosen by the HOT team from donated pieces and will represent a variety of talents & monetary values.
Volunteers Needed
Coordinator
This person should be familiar with computers. You will be responsible for creating auction logs for the day of. A template has already been made.

These people will be responsible for making sure winning bidders receive their items as they win them.

Live Music
Live Music (9am-1pm): Located in the upper parking lot, we hope to have a line up of live musicians throughout the day.

Volunteers Needed
Coordinator
Responsible for the overall vision and implementation of the outdoor music. They will coordinate the line-up, maintain the flow of the day, organize set up & tear down, etc. Darrell Williams has already volunteered to help with the stage.
1-2 people
Musicians
Musicians can include any TYPE of music as long as it is CLEAN and appropriate for our function.
4-8 groups
Suggestions
If you KNOW somebody who would be a good addition to our musical line-up, bring them on!
EVERYBODY
Kids Area
Children’s Area (9am-1pm): Located in the upper parking lot, we hope to have a location designated for children’s activities. Activities MAY include a bounce house, coloring, bubbles, sidewalk chalk, etc. Children’s area will take donations.
Volunteers
Coordinator
The coordinator of this area will be responsible for lining up activities, volunteers to work with the children, set up and tear down of the area, gathering materials, etc.
1-2 people

Additional hands to work with children, help with set up & tear down, etc.
2-4 people
HOT Lounge
HOT Lounge (9am-1pm): Located in the community room, the HOT lounge is intended to be an area to relax and enjoy the day. Guests will be encouraged to eat, visit, etc. This might also be a good place to display a power point or pictures of people previously affected by Harvest of Talents funds.
Volunteers Needed
Coordinator/Visionaries
Visualize a set up for the room, gather materials, and put it into action. This will include seating, and available décor, music, etc. You will also be responsible for collaborating with the other coordinators involved in the lounge (food & mini-lessons)
1-3 people
Volunteers
Help with set up, tear down, and maintenance of the room.
3-4 people
Food
Food (9am-1p): Located in the community room, food might include snack, breakfast, lunch, etc. This will be an important aspect of the HOT Lounge.

Coordinator
Decide on a menu, find donations, organize day of needs, run the kitchen, etc. Keith Fowler has volunteered to help with this, but needs teammates!
2-3 people
Volunteers
Help with collecting donations, prep food, sell food, set up, tear down, etc. 
5-10 people
Mini-Lessons
Mini-Lessons (9am-1pm): Mini lessons are intended to give people a chance to share their talent, no matter how small. Volunteers will have approx. 20 minutes to share their talent to whoever is interested. We will take donations for the mini lessons.

Coordinator
Recruit & organize the line-up for the day. Make sure they have everything they need.

Mini-Lesson Teachers
Volunteers to teach 10-20 minute mini-lessons. Talents can include anything! Simple drawing or photography techniques, cross stitch, knitting, or crochet, guitar or piano lessons, etc. The volunteer will be responsible for any materials needed.
8-12 people

If you know of someone who might be able to teach a mini-lesson, let us know!

Advertisement
Advertisement: We do have an advertising budget, donated by Brian Hill’s company. However, we would like to keep costs as low as possible. We need to advertise as much as possible because this is our FIRST annual.
Volunteers
Coordinator
Someone to head up advertisement needs: contacting radio, news, newspaper, etc. Flyers are already being made. There will be a canvassing day on September 15.

Logistics
Set Up, Tear Down, & Logistics: Set up will likely begin in the week before October 6. Remember, many hands make the load lighter… or something like that. J  
Volunteers Needed
Coordinator
Someone who knows the building and is good with spatial reasoning and aesthetics. This person will be responsible for basic needs (finding tables, chairs, guiding set up) as well as problems that may arise on October 6 (extra chairs, finding an extension cord, bathroom issues).
1-2 People
