Josette Sheeran, the head of the UN's World Food Program, talks about why, in a world with enough food for everyone, people still go hungry, still die of starvation, still use food as a weapon of war. Her vision: "Food is one issue that cannot be solved person by person. We have to stand together."

Upcoming Art Auction Details

Our first Harvest of Talents in East TN is quickly approaching! Today we posted flyers advertising this event around Knoxville.  We are excited to see how everyone's gifts and generosity will come together to help alleviate world hunger.  Just a reminder that the purpose of  Harvest of Talents is for people to donate their talents and gifts in efforts to  help fight against world hunger. All donations will be placed in a silent art auction. The proceeds that are made from those donated items  will be sent to the non-profit organization,  International Disaster Emergency Service. 100% of that money will be sent to people who are suffering from hunger. None of the money will be used towards overhead or advertising costs. We hope that you can join us as we join our resources together in efforts to offer help and hope to those who are hurting and hungry around the world.

Here a few ways that you can still get involved:

- Volunteer on the day of the event! Please contact us if you are interested in helping. We will also have sign up sheets at the downtown and north sites on Sundays.

- You can donate items or services by dropping them off at Cafe 4 offices from May 7th-May 18th. We will have an item submission form for you to fill out.

- You can take flyers to hang up at your work place or to pass out to friends and family. Please let us know if you would like some.
